iTunes 7.7 Responsiveness Problem27 Jul 2008
I recently updated iTunes to version 7.7 on my XP desktop recently and today I plugged my iPod video in to synchronise. The whole thing froze up and iTunes effectively became non-responsive.
A quick Google revealed that many Mac users had similar problems but I couldn’t find anything about Windows users. One of the Mac suggestions was simply to leave the iPod plugged in for “a while”.
After about ten or twelve minutes of the iPod being plugged in everything came back to life. It looks like this version of iTunes is running an update on the iPod and it takes a little while to do it. My 80 GB iPod is quite full so I’d suggest giving it 15 minutes to see if you can get a response.
